Turn up to a monthly tasting, say hello, and someone will hand you a sample within minutes. You don't need kit, you don't need a recipe book, and you certainly don't need to have brewed anything yet — plenty of members tasted for a year before their first batch.

Once you're in, you get the lot: the tastings, the quarterly six-bottle swap, the annual competition, and a roomful of brewers happy to talk you through your first all-grain day.
