Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: June 2026
This policy sets out what you may and may not do when using Seamstack to build and operate your community platform. It applies to community owners (the account holders who create and manage a Seamstack site) and sits alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
What Seamstack is
Seamstack is a platform that lets you build a digital home for your niche community — combining content management, a community forum, and an integrated shop. You use it to run your community site; your members use the site you build.
You are the data controller for your members. Seamstack acts as your data processor. That means the compliance obligations for your community's member data sit with you, and Seamstack provides the tooling (privacy policy templates, cookie consent, data export) to help you meet them.
Acceptable use
As a community owner you may:
- Create and manage a community site for a legitimate niche topic or interest group
- Publish original content, guides, and resources for your members
- Operate a forum for your community, subject to your own moderation policies
- Sell products or services to your members via the integrated shop
- Customise your site's branding, domain, and content within the platform's capabilities
- Export your data at any time — you own it
Prohibited use
You must not use Seamstack to:
- Run illegal operations — including fraud, money laundering, sale of controlled goods, or any activity that violates UK law
- Distribute harmful content — including content that incites violence or hatred, child sexual abuse material, or material designed to cause serious psychological harm
- Send unsolicited bulk communications — spam, mass marketing without consent, or harvesting member contact details for unrelated purposes
- Misuse platform infrastructure — attempting to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or platform systems, circumvent rate limits, or conduct denial-of-service attacks
- Resell access without permission — you may not white-label or resell the platform infrastructure to third parties without a separate agreement with Seamstack
- Impersonate Seamstack — claim affiliation with Seamstack or use our branding in a way that could mislead your members about who operates the platform
Your responsibility for member content
You are responsible for moderating content posted by your community members. This includes ensuring your community does not become a venue for illegal content, targeted harassment, or activity that violates this policy. Seamstack may suspend or terminate accounts where member content creates legal exposure for us and you have failed to act after notice.
Fair use of platform resources
Plans include reasonable usage limits. Automated bulk imports, unusual API call volumes, or activity that degrades performance for other communities may result in rate limiting. Contact us before running anything that generates unusually high traffic — we'd rather work with you than interrupt your service.
Enforcement
Violations of this policy may result in a warning, feature restriction, account suspension, or termination depending on severity. We will give notice before taking action except where the violation requires immediate intervention (illegal content, active security incidents). Termination does not affect your right to export your data.
Reporting a violation
To report a policy violation — including content on a Seamstack-powered site that you believe is illegal or harmful — email hello@seamstack.io. Include a link and a brief description. We aim to respond within 5 working days, sooner for urgent matters.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the platform grows. Registered community owners will be notified of significant changes with reasonable notice before they take effect.
