Practical days, walks and campaigns — there's always something on.

What's coming up
Our practical volunteer days run every month across the county, and the job changes with the seasons — hedgelaying in winter, pond work in autumn, scrub clearance when the birds aren't nesting. Around those we run guided wildlife walks, landowner open days and the odd campaign push when Dorset's wild places need a louder voice.
Follow a site through the seasons and you'll meet most of what we run.
The classic practical day: laying hedges the traditional way while the sap is down.
Guided wildlife walks as everything wakes up, plus campaign events for the places under pressure.
Butterfly and wildflower counts on restored sites — gentle days, big findings.
Digging and restoring ponds while water levels are kind, ready for frogs by spring.
Tools, training and tea provided. You just bring the boots.
